Is Computer-Based Testing Right for Me?

Most MTTC computer-based tests are administered year-round, Monday through Saturday (excluding some holidays). Test appointment availability and starting times will vary by test center, although test appointments are often scheduled to start in the morning.

Note that the Professional Readiness Examination and world language tests are available only during select testing windows.

Select your test to find test dates and additional test-specific information.

Registration for MTTC computer-based testing is available by selecting "Register Now" on the MTTC website. You should try to register as early as possible before your desired test date. Before registering, you may check real-time seat availability and review test center locations.

Seat availability information will vary by test center and is subject to change.

Due to the amount of time required to process a registration, you may not be able to schedule an appointment to test if you register within three calendar days of the day on which you plan to test.

Please note:
Score report dates for CBT administrations may fall during the late or emergency registration period for the next paper-based test administration (see "Test Dates for Paper-Based Testing" for registration deadlines). Late and emergency registration fees will not be waived for examinees who take a test on computer and then after receiving their CBT score report choose to register to retake the same test at the next paper-based administration. Also, examinees who register for a paper-based test administration before receiving their scores and later learn that they passed the same test on computer will not receive refunds for any testing fees paid.

Test results may be delayed for fields undergoing setting of passing scores. Any such delays are noted on the "Test Selection" page for that test.

Please allow three business days from the score report date before accessing MDE certification files using your score(s). Preliminary test results provided at the conclusion of a computer-based test administration will not be used by the MDE for issuing teaching certificate(s) or endorsement(s).
